Mom: So, this is what bragging is. You know how God gives each person special talents? Some people are really strong.
Conner: Yes! Like me, I'm strong!
Mom: O.K., well, and some people are big.
Conner: Oh yeah, I'm big too!
Mom: And some people are really smart.
Conner: Mmmm, hmmm! I'm really smart!
Mom: Well, God wants us to be thankful for those talents. It's never nice to mention those talents to others, but it's better to instead have a thankful heart. You know, your pets (stuffed animals) would never want to mention to anyone else that they are big, strong, or smart, even though you know they are all of those things. So, that's what bragging is, talking to others about the special gifts that God gave you.
I'm not completely sure I got through to Conner, but I'm pretty sure his pets got the idea.
