God is love. 1 John 4:16
Today while we were doing school work at the table, Conner said, "Is God above us or below us?" It was one of those rare moments that as a mom, I thought, "Oh good, I can actually answer this question." So, I said, "Well, we know that God is above us, because He is in heaven."
Then came the more difficult question from my spunky 5 year old, and so he said, "Well, if God is above us, then how does He hold us?" These are the conversations I have the huge privilege of having with my boys that I am eternally grateful for. I don't remember the exact words that were exchanged in that conversation, but I do remember that he was content with the answer as we discussed it, and he reasoned it out. These are the moments we will never get back, and moments I wouldn't trade for anything.
This Valentine's Day, I am grateful for Gods love, and the gift of time to spend with loved ones.
