Now THAT, my friend was a latin spelling bee.

Last night, my boys had the opportunity to compete in the latin spelling bee at their school. Wow, what a night! These kids can SPELL! I mean these kids can spell words that we can't even pronounce, and they can spell words they have never even seen or heard before. We're not talking about an english spelling bee here people, it was all in latin. And I don't mean pig latin.

It was a night of celebration as Mitchell's little buddy Ryan won for the 4th year in a row. They have been in school together since the 2nd grade, and they started out as the ONLY 2nd graders at the school. Their class has grown, and they have grown up together and been quite the little team.

When they were only 7, they made their way from class to class reading their "schedule" at school. One day, their teacher told me that they were getting to class late, and so I asked Mitch about it. He told me that he had lost his "Skadool." They have have come a long way together since then, but these boys have been like glue.

At the latin spelling bee, a long way from losing their "skadool" when they were 7, they were spelling words like, "fortissimus, sistuli, cupiebat, intellegebant, duxerant, cucurrit..." and well, I'll stop there, because I don't want to misspell any of them!

You've come a long way guys, and we're very proud of you.
