More crosses

Since crosses seem to be the topic of conversation for the week in my home, I just had to pass along this one. Yesterday as I was walking by our Christmas tree, I accidentally knocked off a glass cross ornament that one of my dearest friends had given me. (She now lives in Okinawah while her husband is stationed there in the marines.)

So it hit the floor and broke into three pieces. Since it was a sentimental gift, the boys got upset as they do when anything breaks, and then I did what all good mothers do, I threw it in the trash.
Today, Brandon came proudly walking into the kitchen, and as he pulled something out of his blue jeans pocket, with a smile on his face, he said, "Oh Mom, look what I have!" He was holding the broken cross that was scotch taped from one end to the other. He said, "I got it out of the trash and fixed it!"

I guess it took me by surprise for two reasons. One, that he was digging in my trash for treasures. And two, that he was carrying a ceramic cross in his POCKET!

So, now hanging on our tree, is this beautiful broken cross.

You just gotta LOVE little boys!
